Hirakubo lighthouse is located at northernmost point of the island.

Around one hour and a half by bus from the city in the opposite side.

Coming back to south, on the  limit of the peninsula is the Tamatorizaki observatory.

Another key destination with a sheltered observation point which offers outstanding views of the Hirakubo peninsula to the north.

From there are views of two oceans from this viewpoint : the East China Sea, and the Pacific Ocean.

1.4 / The Okinawa sea from the Prefectural Museum

The Okinawa Prefectural Museum and art Museum is a modern building playing beautiful among celosías, stylized columns , holes reminding early cards of digital language and a shape of fortress that evoque some way the "gusuku" style of Ryukyu castles.

The Okinawa sea  have more than 400 different coral species and an uncountable marine life including whales, turtles or tiny colourful tropical fish.

It holds a permanent collection defining the Okinawan nature and history plus galleries for special events such as :
THE UNDERWATER CULTURAL HERITAGE – 

PIECES OF HISTORY IN THE OCEAN

But further than that helds history since primitive times going through trade among the islands  around and  other continents.

Nature, great storms, typhoons, produced numerous wrecks.

Even there are rests of whole cultures submerged on the underwater fund.

They resemble to "gusukus" from Ryukyu Kingdom -their castles- but other times, such as a pirámide, they remind more the mexican or egyptian civilizations.
